This is a somewhat embarrassing question, but heck, thankfully it's all anonymous here, so I'm going to ask. My husband is 300 lbs we want to get a treadmill to get back into shape. We live in a newish 1994 construction house and I was wondering if it would be safe to put the treadmill which is heavy in itself on the second floor of the house and have him jog on it? I just have visions of him falling through the floor. Our basement is cold and I know we wouldn't use the treadmill if we put it down there. Thanks.
Lower back pain after treadmill use?
When i run outside, I absolutely no back pain. I feel great.The shoes I use are new balance they feel awesome, whenever i'm doing cross training they're fine.however, as i soon as i hit the treadmill, after ten minutes my lower back starts to ache.is there something i can do to combat this? is there a reason why my back hurts on the treadmill? I thought they were supposed to be cushioned to help protect against joint pains and awkward muscle pains.Thank you

I have started using a treadmill and wanted to know what was more important using it for a certain amount of time or the distance you cover.The reason I ask is I use it for 15 mins and with a combination of walking, jogging and running I cover 1.5 kms.

I need a flexible walking shoe for a treadmill. I can't use a hard, unflexible shoe and don't want a running shoe. I" m familiar with many brands BUT they have dozens of models and don't answer questions about flexiblity. I need advice from people who know fitness shoes. Thank you.Okay, I've been checking these Nike Free shoes you folks have suggested. They look great BUT I did need a " walking shoe" , and they usually have the curved backs and flex easily since the foot strikes the ground differently when walking. I can't run yet. What do you think of this shoe in this regards?Well, okay, I was trying to help out by adding that last post, but . . . I had originally said I needed walking shoes, not running. I said it was important. You shouldn't wear running shoes for walking purposes because the shape of the shoes is different for important reasons. I just can't see why I would be told to get Nikes Free running shoes several times. Maybe this Answer forum is for advertising?
